35' diameter 5/8ths sphere and a 20' 3/8ths sphere dome

This dome was designed and finished in 1986 at a cost of $30 per square foot.  The construction was simple and efficient.  The 2,300 sq.ft. home has 3 bedrooms, a sun room, loft, laundry room, kitchen, living room, study and 2 3/4 baths.

The home consists of a cluster of two domes: a 35', 5/8ths sphere dome with second floor and a 20', 3/8ths sphere dome.   The domes sit atop 4' base walls. Aluminum windows were initially installed with bevel cedar siding. These were recently replaced with Milgard vinyl windows and Hardiplank siding, resulting in a 30% decrease in annual energy usage.  Click on the links below for more on the construction and features of this custom dome.
